Partnerships
DUS works on the collaborative development model, where partnerships mean very much in project design, implementation, evaluations, and upscaling. Searching for varied partnerships, DUS collaborates with a range of stakeholders to finetune improvement by leveraging its own initiatives towards sustainable growth in Bangladesh. In forming the collaboration, as an American non-profit organization, DUS is dedicated to working not only with American institutions but also with Bangladeshi; and individuals in tailored partnerships aimed at strengthening local services through the co-creation of innovative projects.
Research is important to DUS in its operation as a learning organization committed to evidence-based practice. For instance, its pilot village project started with a rigorous demographic baseline survey, co-designed with the University of Michigan School of Public Health and the University of Dhaka to provide a baseline measure of impact and identify priority areas for intervention.
Before running any initiative, DUS conducts rigorous research regarding the community needs and carefully selects target populations. Every project sets some goal of generating evidences in the process and keeps recording lessons learned for improvements continuously.
